Westport 3 Killala 2
The Visitors bowed out of the cup at the first hurdle with another inept display in Westport on Sunday morning. Giving away soft goals and missing easy chances is their hallmark this season and they were 3-0 down before they got going but left it too late with goals from Aileen Gilroy & Allana Naughton proving too little too late. Team Emma Varley, Emma Loughney, Eimar Feerick, Ailish Healy Sarah Farrel, Ciara McDonnell, Emma Gilroy, Allana Naughton, Graine McHale, Yvonne Gilroy, & Aileen Gilroy

Castlebar 6 Killala o
A nightmare 5 minute spell midway through the first half when Killala gifted the hosts 3 goals put this game out of their reach. Lack of concentration and discipline during this period cost them dearly and they will have to apply themselves more and step up to further challenges if they want to be a force in this league.

Killala 18 Ballinrobe Town 0
These two sides made their return to ladies football after a short absence but it was the home side that looked like it was never away.
In a total mismatch Killala scored at ease and goals by Alanna Naughton (5) Aoilean Collins (3) Aileen Gilroy (4) Graine McHale (2) Ailish Healy (2) Niamh Collins & Sorcha McGee gave the home side an easy 3 points and with nothing learned from their opening fixture the girls face much sterner tasks in the weeks ahead,

Castlebar Celtic 5 Killala 4
The Killala ladies came away from Celtic Park on Sunday in disbelief that they had scored 4 goals away from home and still ended up on the loosing side. Forced to field without first second and third choice keepers Killala had to go with striker Aoife Herbert in goal but she could not be faulted for any one of the 5 conceeded. It was the visitors who started the brightest and it was no surprise when Nicky Leonard volleyed home from an Elaine Lowther corner on 11 minutes. Celtic were soon back on level terms when Emma Mulin scored 5 minutes later. Mullin then gave them the lead but the Killala ladies pulled it back when Emma Gilroy made it 2-2. The home side once again hit the front from a corner 10 minutes before the break but Aileen Gilroy kept the goal rush coming just before halftime when she finished off a lovely thro ball from Patricia Coyle to make it 3-3 at the break. The Killala ladies carried the game to Celtic in the second half and when Ailleen Gilroy put them in front midway into the second period it looked good for the visitors as they had chances from Alanna Naughton and both Gilroys well saved as they went to make the game safe. Celtic wern’t finished though and a poor defensive clearance was punished when the ball was poked home in the Killala goal for the equalizer. Just when the game seemed to be going towards extra time after such a free flowing game of football Celtic were awarded a dubious frre kick at the edge of the box and up stepped the castlebar captain Katie Walse to fire home the winner for her side and leave the Killala girls shocked. This was a great team performance by Killala where everyone of the players did their bit but it was not to be on the day. Team Aoife Herbert, Nicky Leonard, Olivia McGloin, Martina Walker, Sarah Farrell, Elaine Lowther, Ciara McDonnell, Patricia Coyle, Ailish Collins, Emma Gilroy, Ailleen Gilroy, Subs, Niamh Collins, Sioban Kearney, Alanna Naughton, Aoife Munnelly

Their was no goal glut this time on the ladies visit to the Sportspark Ground but a goal by Emma Gilroy after only 60 seconds did suggest that . Substitute Patricia Coyle scored the fourth goal on her debut for the club before Westport scored a couple of late consolation goals. Snugboro Utd 1 Killala 3
The Killala ladies picked up 3 more points on their travels with a good 3-1 win over a strong Snugboro side in Conway Park on Sunday. Killala scored after 20 mins when Ailen Gilroy finished off a good move. Despite having all the possession they failed to add to this before the break despite having numerous chances. Aine McLean scored from the spot early in the second half but the home side almost immediately pulled one back from a corner to keep themselves in the game. Aileen Gilroy wrapped it up with a fine individual goal near the end to seal it for the visitors. Killala 1 Lagan Harps 4
The Killala ladies bowed out of the WFAI Junior cup on Sunday when they came up against a more experienced and well organised Harps outfit. The Killala Girls conceded 2 early sloppy goals as the visitors used the long ball to great effect, a tactic they had previously not come up against in Mayo football. Aileen Giroy scored the goal of the match just before the break to put the homeside back in it, but another goal just after the break from a poorly cleared corner left them with a mountain to climb. Killala then went on to dominate the game , keeping the ball well and creating several scoring chances but Harps plundered another near the end to clinch the tie.
Team : Sharon Hughes, Nicky Leonard, Sarah Farrell, Olivia McGloin, Martina Walker, Ciara McDonnell, Niamh Collins, Ailish Collins, Elaine Lowther, Aileen Gilroy, Emma Gilroy subs Aoife Herbert, Sinead Herbert

Killala ladies never got going in this league match
in Kilmore on Saturday. Despite beating the same opposition 6-1 at the venue 6 days earlier they never showed the same hunger to take the points on offer. Two dubious goals before halftime which was shortened to half an hour because of another game being played at the venue, put the homeside in command but despite all the pressure from the Killala girls in the even shorter secondhalf , Kilmore held on to their lead . Team: Dierdre Devine, Nicola Leonard, Sarah Farrell, Olivia McGloin, Martina Walker, Ciara McDonnell, Sharon Hughes, Elaine Lowther, Emma Gilroy, Yvonne Gilroy, Niamh Collins
