U12 Girls Player of the year ( Joint )
These gifted girls played a leading role within the U12 team this season along with showing great talent when breaking into the U14 squad. These players have developed significantly throughout the season and are now currently part of the Mayo U12 Emerging Talent programme.
U12 player of the year… Aishling Bilbow & Natasha Bourke
U13 Girls Player of the year:
This girl proved quite versatile throughout the season, playing many roles in the U14 team. All over the pitch this player showed great enthusiasm and a fantastic attitude throughout the season. Finishing her season on a high, with a top class appearance for the U13 Girls in the Cup Final. She is also a member of the Mayo U14 Emerging Talent programme.
U13 player of the year…. Collette Collins
U14 player of the year:
This Girl had a very busy season playing for many teams in her club and also for her county. A blossoming talent that gets better with every season is once again picked for the Mayo U14 Emerging Talent programme, the safest pair of hands in girls soccer at Killala FC
U14 player of the year…. Emma Munnelly.
U15 girls player of the year:
This girl had had a very busy season, playing a key and central role in the U16 girl’s squad this year. This girl has proved quite versatile throughout the season and has adapted to numerous positions throughout her young career, showing an unbelievable attitude to both the game and her team-mates. After working hard, through a tough season, this girl is a deserved winner of this award.
U15 girl’s player of the year…. Jacinta Munnelly.
U16 girls player of the year:
Developing significantly throughout the 2011 season, this girl has found a position in which she dominates. Showing great determination and courage, this girl is a fear for any opponent.
U16 girls’ player of the year…. Karen Lawlor
U 17 girls player of the year:
Although having a fantastic bunch of girls to pick from, for this award, this girl has stood out through her leadership, attitude, and passion for the game, along with showing strong dedication to her team. This girl has been described as a ‘rock in defence’, playing every game for the U16’s this year, along with breaking into the Ladies team. Improving each and every week, this girl has shown potential to be a key player for Killala in years to come.
U17 girls’ player of the year…. Team Captain Grainne McHale
U12 Boys
This years U12 Boys player of the year award goes to a boy who has been with the club since he was six, who’s attitude towards training and matches is unsurpassed and is a delight to work, he is a very versatile player that can play in several positions and was also a member of the U13 Side . an everpresent at training and matches throughout the season, a joy for the coaches to work with
And an eye for goal that is going to get better every season

U13 Boys
Killala entered the U-13 league this year with great hope of doing well and the player to receive this award helped them battle in every match. Was always there to encourage those around him and kept the moral of the team high in a difficult season. Would play anywhere to help out his team and spent the most part as a goalkeeper . One to watch for the future …….. Alan Coultry
U14 Boys
A very versatile player , played in many positions for the U14 & U16 . playing in a higher division was always going to be difficult but this player did not look out classed in any of the games this season. …..Conor Mooney
U15 Boys
Played a starring role in the U16 & U18 teams this season this player is with Kilala FC since he was 6. Never misses a match or training session at any level, can play comfortablely at the back or in midfield. A joy for any coach to work with and is going to be a big player for the future…. …….Kevin Healy
U16 Boys
U16 level is always a hard age group to compete at and this season was no different. Fielding a very young side it was always going to be difficult but with the leadership and battling qualities of this year’s winner the team were very competitive and the maturity shown by him inspired all who played with him. His consistency over the years has often been overlooked but a player with his technical ability and know how will always be rewarded….Dermot Lavelle
U18 Boys
Played for the U15 , U16 & U18 teams this term and was a lynchpin in them all, tough in the tackle and pacey when called upon only injury prevented him getting a call up from the county squad……Keith Higgins
Ladies Player of the year
An Ever present in this seasons ladies leage this player has been knocking on the door for an award for the past few seasons, scorer of great goals and winner of crucial tackles her battling qualities were instrumental in helping her team win honors over the past 6 seasons. this player would be an asset to any team with her eye for the killer pass and the through ball…. Appreciation Award
This Award is to Mark McLouglin who finished as Mens Team Manager last September. In his 4 years in charge he guided his team to 2 cup finals , winning one and to the teams first leage title in 25 years, making him one of the clubs most successful managers. In difficult times he developed the squad into the competitive unit that it is today. As a player he joined from Lacken Utd as an 18 year old and has enjoyed a long playing career winning many honours with Killala , most notabely captaining the side to the 1999 Mayo FA Cup final triumph. Represented Killala FC when he played for a number of seasons with Mayo FA League side in the Oscar traynor cup and never let his club or county down. Well done Mark and we hope to see you back with Kyles or Katelynns team real soon.

This award goes to a player who’s attitude towards training and matches is unsurpassed and is a delight to work with, he is always wanting to learn more and more, he is a very versatile player that can play in several positions and is already an integral part of the U-14 team and is receiving great reviews as a member of the Mayo U-12 emerging talent team. This Player was instrumental in her teams run to the cup semi finals where they were beaten on penalties. Played a big part in the U14 team’s league run. Chosen for the mayo Emerging talent U13 she played a number of games for Mayo at the end of this and did very well …. Emma Munnelly
U-13 Boys Player of the year -
Killala entered the U-13 league this year for the first time in many years and the player to receive this award is highly regarded by not only the coaches but is admired by his fellow players as being easily the best U-13 player this year, he’s a linchpin of not only the U-13 team but also the U-14 & U-16 teams as well, a quiet lad who reads the game very well, follows instructions, he has also been a part of the Mayo emerging talent teams for quite some time now, an easy choice and captain of the U-13 Killala team …………Darragh O’Boyle
U13 girls Player of the Year
This Girl had a very busy season playing with both the U14 girls and the successful U16 girls team as well as winning an all Ireland medal with her school and staring on the Connaught Gaynor cup team .Scorer of wonderful goals at all levels but will be remembered for her two wonderful goals in the All Ireland semi final against Wilton. ….. U14 Boys Player of the Year
This year’s winner was in inspirational form throughout the season. Played in midfield but put the strikers to shame when scoring 33 goals in helping his team to capture the U14 Division 3 crown. …. Mathew Keane
U14 Girls Player of the Year
This versatile player has played in many positions this season but it was at centrhalf where her class showed. A star of the U16 girls season, outstanding for her school, once again to the front in the Gaynor cup with Connaught and a Trojan season for the U14 team. A player with a big future….. Eilish Healy

Now in her sixth season with Killala her experience really showed when the girls went after three trophies, inspirational in midfield she was consistent throughout as she battled with the team to the final of the WFAI cup, she captained the team to a winning 100% record in the league. Youth Merit Award Killala playing in division 2 U12 this year may have been punching above our weight and this award goes to a player who didn’t figure too much in last year’s team but established himself well this year and became team captain, always eager and ever present and passionate even though as goalkeeper for Killala was a busy person this year but never gave up, a very likeable young lad and will be a great addition to the U-14 team for the upcoming season …… Peter Lynott
